2022 Swim & Lifesaving Instructor

Service Description

The Lifesaving Society's Swim & Lifesaving Instructor course prepares the instructor to teach and evaluate the swimming strokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program, Canadian Swim Patrol Program and Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross. Candidates acquire proven teaching methods, planning skills, and a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques.​ Course Delivery: This course will be offered as a blended-learning course with 16 hours of online, synchronous instruction via videoconferencing followed by 28 hours of in-person, in-water instruction. The in-person sessions will be ran in the lake, at the public beach within Wakaw Lake Regional Park. 100% attendance and participation required in all sessions.  Included in the cost of registration: Materials: Instructor Manual, Swim for Life Award Guide, Teaching Swim for Life Manual, Swim Patrol Award Guide, Bronze Medals Award Guide, and Leadership Binder. Accommodation: powered, shared campsite from June 30-July 4. Required materials, not provided: For online sessions: Computer or tablet, with video capabilities, and a stable internet connection.  In-person sessions: Along with their course materials, swimsuits, towels, and other course equipment, candidates will need to bring their own camping gear (tent, sleeping gear, etc.), along with food and cooking equipment. The provided campsite includes power and a firepit.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is required please contact us directly at swimsafe306@gmail.com. We will provide: 100% refund for cancellations 10 days prior to the first day of the registered class,  75% refund for cancellations 9 days prior to the first day of the registered class, and any days on from there. No refunds will be issued for cancellations that happen after the registered class has begun.
