Ages 6+ years old, should have previously passed Swimmer 1 (Red Cross SK 1/2) or equivalent ability: can float on their front and back for 5 seconds each, glide on their front back and side for 3 metres each, tread water for 30 seconds in a PFD, and swim 5 metres in a PFD. Swimmers will gain comfort in deeper water (over swimmers head) and learn treading water without a lifejacket. Swimmers will be challenged by the introduction of various skills including, flutter kick on their front, back, and side, vertical whip kick with an aid, and swimming front crawl and back crawl for 10 m. Swimmers will get to work on their Swim to Survive skills and be introduced to interval training. Upon passing this level: swimmers will be able to front crawl and back crawl for 10 metres each, tread water for 15 seconds, and while wearing a PFD: jump into deep water, tread for 30 seconds and then swim 15 metres.
